Water
The most important shelter supply. People living inside a fallout shelter would be provided one quart of water per day. The 23" high x 17" diameter water barrels were used as toliets once they were empty.

Food

People were supplied 700 calories of food per day in a community shelter. It may have consisted of survival crackers, candy, etc.

Food
MPF, or Multi Perpose Food was sold for family fallout shelters. Family shelters may have contained food that the family in the shelter normally ate, mostly canned food.
Sanitation
Sanitation kits in community shelters were designed for fifty people. They contained a lid, plastic liners, waterless hand cleaner, toilet paper and bag ties. The kits were used as toilets until the water barrels were empty. The sanitation kit barrels were made of fiberboard and lined with plastic.
Medical Kits
Every fallout shelter has to have a medical kit. Medical kits came in various sizes for the amount of people they were designed to be used for.
Radiation Meters
Radiation meters were supplied to all community fallout shelters (one every 200 people). For more information, check out my radiation meter page OR click on the picture to your left.
